This six-hour course gives an overview of the basic concepts of using ArcGIS (version 9.0), which is a GIS spatial mapping product. You will learn the various tools available in this product, as well as some of its applications, focusing on how this program can work with client-specific data. You will also have an opportunity to set up a small GIS database, then build on the database using various analytical geo-processes available.
Prerequisites: Before enrolling in this course, participants should possess basic computer skills including mouse operation, creating folders, creating files and saving files into folders; and some experience with browsing the internet. We offer a basic computer skills course if you require acquisition of these skills.
